Luxmux combines various SLEDs in a single, so called “OSE” module by means of its BeST-SLED technology. These 32-PIN-butterfly packages emit between 1230…1730nm, with spectral widths of up to 460 nm and 40 mW output power. The single SLEDs can be operated individually.
Luxmus also offers integrated-spectral-bench (ISB)-systems which includes an OSE module, power-supply, cooling, and isolator. The comprehensive software makes it an easy-to-use turn-key solution.
On one hand SLDs are broadband light sources with a low temporal coherence, as is known for LEDs. On the other hand superluminescent diodes have a high brightness (power) and a high spatial coherence – comparable to lasers.
This makes them particularly suitable for applications that require a high beam quality (including coupling in single-mode fibers), but do not tolerate any disruptive interference effects (speckle-free).
