Using standard and well-established semiconductor manufacturing methods, Broadcom leads the world in thin-film pyroelectric technology based around its in-house expertise. Compared to todays other infrared detectors Broadcom detectors perform much better in terms of response times (smaller thermal mass), responsivity and low power consumption.
