The following information provides a simple overview of what happens to your personal data when you visit this website. Personal data is any data by which you can be personally identified. Detailed information on the subject of data protection can be found in our privacy policy below this text.
Data collection on this website
Who is responsible for data collection on this website?
Data processing on this website is carried out by the website operator. Its contact details can be found in the section “Information on the controller” in this privacy policy.
How do we collect your data?
On the one hand, your data is collected when you provide it to us. This may, for example, be data you enter in a contact form.
Other data is collected automatically or with your consent by our IT systems when you visit the website. This is mainly technical data (e.g. internet browser, operating system or time of the page view). This data is collected automatically as soon as you enter this website.
What do we use your data for?
Part of the data is collected to ensure error-free provision of the website. Other data may be used to analyse your user behaviour. Inquiries concerning products distributed by our sister company Frankfurt Laser Company are forwarded to it (see Section 10).
What rights do you have regarding your data?
You have the right at any time to receive information free of charge about the origin, recipients and purpose of your stored personal data. You also have the right to request the rectification or erasure of this data. If you have given consent to data processing, you can revoke this consent at any time with effect for the future. You also have the right, under certain circumstances, to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. Furthermore, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority.
You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of data protection.
Analysis tools and third-party tools
When you visit this website, your surfing behaviour may be statistically evaluated. This is done primarily with so-called analysis programs.
Detailed information on these analysis programs can be found in the following privacy policy.
2. Hosting and Content Delivery Networks (CDN)
IONOS
We host our website with IONOS SE. The provider is IONOS SE, Elgendorfer Str. 57, 56410 Montabaur, Germany (hereinafter: IONOS). When you visit our website, IONOS collects various log files including your IP addresses. For details, please refer to the IONOS privacy policy: https://www.ionos.de/terms-gtc/terms-privacy.
IONOS is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. We have a legitimate interest in the most reliable presentation possible of our website. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Data processing agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
3. General Information and Mandatory Disclosures
Data protection
The operators of these pages take the protection of your personal data very seriously. We treat your personal data confidentially and in accordance with the statutory data protection regulations and this privacy policy.
When you use this website, various personal data is collected. Personal data is data by which you can be personally identified. This privacy policy explains which data we collect and what we use it for. It also explains how and for what purpose this is done.
Please note that data transmission over the internet (e.g. when communicating by e-mail) may be subject to security vulnerabilities. Complete protection of data against access by third parties is not possible.
Information on the controller
The controller responsible for data processing on this website is:
EQ Photonics GmbH
Zeppelinstr. 4
85399 Hallbergmoos, Germany
Phone: +49 (0)811 998707-0
E-mail: info@eqphotonics.de
The controller is the natural or legal person who alone or jointly with others determines the purposes and means of the processing of personal data (e.g. names, e-mail addresses, etc.).
Storage period
Unless a more specific storage period is stated in this privacy policy, your personal data will remain with us until the purpose for the data processing no longer applies. If you assert a legitimate request for erasure or revoke your consent to data processing, your data will be deleted unless we have other legally permissible reasons for storing your personal data (e.g. retention periods under tax or commercial law); in the latter case, the data will be deleted once these reasons cease to apply.
Information on data transfer to the USA and other third countries
Among other things, we use tools from companies based in the USA or other third countries that are not secure under data protection law. If these tools are active, your personal data may be transferred to these third countries and processed there. Please note that no level of data protection comparable to that in the EU can be guaranteed in these countries. For example, US companies are obliged to hand over personal data to security authorities without you as a data subject being able to take legal action against this. It can therefore not be ruled out that US authorities (e.g. intelligence services) process, evaluate and permanently store your data located on US servers for surveillance purposes. We have no influence on these processing activities.
Revocation of your consent to data processing
Many data processing operations are only possible with your express consent. You can revoke consent you have already given at any time. The lawfulness of the data processing carried out until the revocation remains unaffected by the revocation.
Right to object to data collection in special cases and to direct marketing (Art. 21 GDPR)
IF DATA PROCESSING IS BASED ON ART. 6(1)(E) OR (F) GDPR, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF YOUR PERSONAL DATA ON GROUNDS RELATING TO YOUR PARTICULAR SITUATION; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING BASED ON THESE PROVISIONS. THE RESPECTIVE LEGAL BASIS ON WHICH PROCESSING IS BASED CAN BE FOUND IN THIS PRIVACY POLICY. IF YOU OBJECT, WE WILL NO LONGER PROCESS YOUR PERSONAL DATA CONCERNED UNLESS WE CAN DEMONSTRATE COMPELLING LEGITIMATE GROUNDS FOR THE PROCESSING WHICH OVERRIDE YOUR INTERESTS, RIGHTS AND FREEDOMS, OR THE PROCESSING SERVES THE ESTABLISHMENT, EXERCISE OR DEFENCE OF LEGAL CLAIMS (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(1) GDPR).
IF YOUR PERSONAL DATA IS PROCESSED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING, YOU HAVE THE RIGHT TO OBJECT AT ANY TIME TO THE PROCESSING OF PERSONAL DATA CONCERNING YOU FOR THE PURPOSE OF SUCH MARKETING; THIS ALSO APPLIES TO PROFILING TO THE EXTENT THAT IT IS RELATED TO SUCH DIRECT MARKETING. IF YOU OBJECT, YOUR PERSONAL DATA WILL SUBSEQUENTLY NO LONGER BE USED FOR THE PURPOSE OF DIRECT MARKETING (OBJECTION UNDER ART. 21(2) GDPR).
Right to lodge a complaint with the competent supervisory authority
In the event of breaches of the GDPR, data subjects have the right to lodge a complaint with a supervisory authority, in particular in the Member State of their habitual residence, their place of work or the place of the alleged breach. The right to lodge a complaint is without prejudice to any other administrative or judicial remedy.
Right to data portability
You have the right to have data that we process automatically on the basis of your consent or in performance of a contract handed over to you or to a third party in a common, machine-readable format. If you request the direct transfer of the data to another controller, this will only be done to the extent technically feasible.
SSL or TLS encryption
For security reasons and to protect the transmission of confidential content, such as orders or inquiries that you send to us as the site operator, this site uses SSL or TLS encryption. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
If SSL or TLS encryption is activated, the data you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Encrypted payment transactions on this website
If, after conclusion of a contract subject to payment, there is an obligation to transmit your payment data to us (e.g. account number for direct debit authorisation), this data is required for payment processing.
Payment transactions via the common means of payment (Visa/MasterCard, direct debit) are carried out exclusively via an encrypted SSL or TLS connection. You can recognise an encrypted connection by the fact that the address line of the browser changes from “http://” to “https://” and by the lock symbol in your browser line.
With encrypted communication, your payment data that you transmit to us cannot be read by third parties.
Information, erasure and rectification
Within the framework of the applicable statutory provisions, you have the right at any time to free information about your stored personal data, its origin and recipients and the purpose of the data processing and, if applicable, a right to rectification or erasure of this data. You can contact us at any time regarding this and any other questions on the subject of personal data.
Right to restriction of processing
You have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data. You can contact us at any time for this purpose. The right to restriction of processing exists in the following cases:
- If you dispute the accuracy of your personal data stored by us, we usually need time to verify this. For the duration of the verification, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
- If the processing of your personal data was/is unlawful, you can request the restriction of data processing instead of erasure.
- If we no longer need your personal data, but you need it to exercise, defend or assert legal claims, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data instead of erasure.
- If you have lodged an objection under Art. 21(1) GDPR, a balance must be struck between your interests and ours. As long as it has not yet been determined whose interests prevail, you have the right to request the restriction of the processing of your personal data.
If you have restricted the processing of your personal data, this data may – apart from being stored – only be processed with your consent or for the establishment, exercise or defence of legal claims or for the protection of the rights of another natural or legal person or for reasons of important public interest of the European Union or a Member State.
Objection to advertising e-mails
We hereby object to the use of contact data published within the scope of the legal notice obligation for the purpose of sending unsolicited advertising and information material. The operators of the pages expressly reserve the right to take legal action in the event of unsolicited advertising information being sent, for example by spam e-mails.
4. Data Collection on this Website
Cookies
Our websites use so-called “cookies”. Cookies are small text files and do not cause any damage to your device. They are stored on your device either temporarily for the duration of a session (session cookies) or permanently (persistent cookies). Session cookies are automatically deleted at the end of your visit. Persistent cookies remain stored on your device until you delete them yourself or they are automatically deleted by your web browser.
In some cases, cookies from third-party companies may also be stored on your device when you enter our site (third-party cookies). These enable us or you to use certain services of the third-party company (e.g. cookies for processing payment services).
Cookies have various functions. Many cookies are technically necessary, as certain website functions would not work without them (e.g. the shopping cart function or the display of videos). Other cookies are used to evaluate user behaviour or to display advertising.
Cookies that are required to carry out the electronic communication process (necessary cookies), to provide certain functions you have requested (functional cookies, e.g. for the shopping cart function) or to optimise the website (e.g. cookies to measure the web audience) are stored on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, unless another legal basis is specified. The website operator has a legitimate interest in storing cookies for the technically error-free and optimised provision of its services. If consent to the storage of cookies has been requested, the storage of the cookies concerned is based exclusively on this consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR); consent can be revoked at any time.
You can set your browser so that you are informed about the setting of cookies and allow cookies only in individual cases, exclude the acceptance of cookies for certain cases or in general, and activate the automatic deletion of cookies when closing the browser. If cookies are deactivated, the functionality of this website may be restricted.
Where cookies are used by third-party companies or for analysis purposes, we will inform you separately in this privacy policy and, if necessary, request your consent.
Server log files
The provider of the pages automatically collects and stores information in so-called server log files, which your browser automatically transmits to us. These are: browser type and browser version, operating system used, referrer URL, host name of the accessing computer, time of the server request and IP address. This data is not merged with other data sources.
This data is collected on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the technically error-free presentation and optimisation of its website – for this purpose the server log files must be collected.
Contact form
If you send us inquiries via the contact form, your details from the inquiry form, including the contact details you provide there, will be stored by us for the purpose of processing the inquiry and in case of follow-up questions. We do not pass on this data without your consent; for forwarding to our sister company, see Section 10.
This data is processed on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR if your inquiry is related to the performance of a contract or is necessary for the implementation of pre-contractual measures. In all other cases, processing is based on our legitimate interest in the effective handling of inquiries addressed to us (Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR) or on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR) if this has been requested; consent can be revoked at any time.
The data you enter in the contact form remains with us until you request its erasure, revoke your consent to storage or the purpose for data storage no longer applies (e.g. after your inquiry has been processed). Mandatory statutory provisions – in particular retention periods – remain unaffected.
Inquiries by e-mail, telephone or fax
If you contact us by e-mail, telephone or fax, your inquiry including all resulting personal data (name, position, company, contact details, content of the inquiry) is stored and processed by us for the purpose of handling your request.
6(1)(f) GDPR). The data remains with us until you request its erasure or the purpose for data storage no longer applies; statutory retention periods remain unaffected.
Consent with Borlabs Cookie
Our website uses the consent technology of Borlabs Cookie to obtain your consent to the storage of certain cookies in your browser or to the use of certain technologies and to document this in compliance with data protection law. The provider of this technology is Borlabs – Benjamin A. Bornschein, Rübenkamp 32, 22305 Hamburg, Germany (hereinafter Borlabs).
When you enter our website, a Borlabs cookie is stored in your browser, in which the consents you have given or the revocation of these consents are stored. This data is not passed on to the provider of Borlabs Cookie.
The collected data is stored until you request us to delete it or delete the Borlabs cookie yourself or the purpose for data storage no longer applies. Mandatory statutory retention periods remain unaffected. Details on the data processing of Borlabs Cookie can be found at https://de.borlabs.io/kb/welche-daten-speichert-borlabs-cookie/.
The Borlabs Cookie consent technology is used to obtain the legally required consents for the use of cookies. The legal basis for this is Art. 6(1)(c) GDPR.
5. Social Media
LinkedIn plugin
This website uses functions of the LinkedIn network. The provider is LinkedIn Ireland Unlimited Company, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland.

Please note that, as the provider of the pages, we have no knowledge of the content of the transmitted data or its use by LinkedIn.
The LinkedIn plugin is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the greatest possible visibility in social media. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://www.linkedin.com/help/linkedin/answer/62538/datenubertragung-aus-der-eu-dem-ewr-und-der-schweiz?lang=de
Further information can be found in the LinkedIn privacy policy at: https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.
LinkedIn Insight Tag & retargeting
Our pages use the retargeting tool LinkedIn Conversion Tracking of LinkedIn Ireland, Wilton Plaza, Wilton Place, Dublin 2, Ireland (“LinkedIn”). For this purpose, the LinkedIn Insight Tag is integrated into the websites of EQ Photonics GmbH, which enables LinkedIn to collect statistical, pseudonymous data about your visit and use of our website and to provide us with corresponding aggregated statistics on this basis. This information is also used to show you interest-specific and relevant offers and recommendations after you have shown interest in certain services, information and offers. The relevant information is stored in a cookie. You can prevent the storage of cookies via your browser settings. Alternatively, you can object to this form of data processing by setting an opt-out cookie at https://www.linkedin.com/psettings/guest-controls/retargeting-opt-out, which remains on your device until you delete the cookies. This option is available to LinkedIn members and non-members alike. The Insight Tag is only loaded with your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, Section 25(1) TDDDG), which you can revoke at any time via the cookie settings. Further information can also be found in the LinkedIn privacy policy at https://www.linkedin.com/legal/privacy-policy.

The storage and analysis of the data is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the greatest possible visibility in social media. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Further information on data protection and the XING share button can be found in the XING privacy policy at: https://www.xing.com/app/share?op=data_protection.
6. Analysis Tools and Advertising
Google Tag Manager
We use Google Tag Manager. The provider is Google Ireland Limited, Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Tag Manager is a tool that allows us to integrate tracking or statistical tools and other technologies on our website. Google Tag Manager itself does not create user profiles, does not store cookies and does not carry out any independent analyses. It only serves to manage and deploy the tools integrated via it. However, Google Tag Manager collects your IP address, which may also be transferred to Google’s parent company in the United States.
Google Tag Manager is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in the fast and uncomplicated integration and management of various tools on its website. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Google Analytics
This website uses functions of the web analysis service Google Analytics. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
Google Analytics enables the website operator to analyse the behaviour of website visitors. In doing so, the website operator receives various usage data, such as page views, length of stay, operating systems used and origin of the user. This data may be summarised by Google in a profile that is assigned to the respective user or their device.
Furthermore, with Google Analytics we can, among other things, record your mouse and scroll movements and clicks. Google Analytics also uses various modelling approaches to supplement the collected data sets and uses machine learning technologies in data analysis.
Google Analytics uses technologies that enable the recognition of the user for the purpose of analysing user behaviour (e.g. cookies or device fingerprinting). The information collected by Google about the use of this website is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there.
This analysis tool is used on the basis of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. The website operator has a legitimate interest in analysing user behaviour in order to optimise both its website and its advertising. If corresponding consent has been requested (e.g. consent to the storage of cookies), processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://business.safety.google/adscontrollerterms/sccs/.
Browser plugin
You can prevent the collection and processing of your data by Google by downloading and installing the browser plugin available at the following link: https://tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout?hl=en.
More information on how Google Analytics handles user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/6004245?hl=en.
Storage period
Data stored by Google at user and event level that is linked to cookies, user identifiers (e.g. user ID) or advertising IDs (e.g. DoubleClick cookies, Android advertising ID) is anonymised or deleted after 2 months. Details can be found at the following link: https://support.google.com/analytics/answer/7667196?hl=en
Matomo
We use the web analysis tool “Matomo” to design our websites according to demand. Matomo creates usage profiles on the basis of pseudonyms. For this purpose, persistent cookies are stored on your device and read by Matomo. In this way, returning visitors can be recognised and counted. We also use the “Heatmap” and “Session Recording” modules. The Matomo heatmap service shows the areas of the EQ Photonics website where the mouse is moved most frequently and/or which are clicked most frequently. The session recording service records individual user sessions. We can anonymously replay and analyse recorded sessions and use the insights gained to optimise our website and, for example, make it more user-friendly.
Data processing is based on your consent in accordance with Section 25(1) TDDDG, Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR, provided you have given your consent via our banner (see: Borlabs Cookie). You can revoke your consent at any time. Please make the settings that suit you.
Further information on the terms of use of Matomo and the data protection provisions can be found at: https://matomo.org/privacy/
Webmetic
This website uses Webmetic for the purposes of marketing, market research and optimisation. In accordance with Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR, company-related data is collected and pseudonymised. For this purpose, a special code is implemented that securely collects relevant data. The data is encrypted from the administration level onwards to ensure its integrity. The collected data is processed exclusively in pseudonymised form and is not used to personally identify individual visitors to this website, which is neither permitted nor part of our processes. The data is deleted as soon as the purpose of the processing has been fulfilled and no statutory retention obligations remain. You can object to the collection and storage of data at any time with effect for the future by opening the opt-out link. There you can activate an opt-out.
7. Newsletter
Newsletter data
If you would like to receive the newsletter offered on the website, we require an e-mail address from you as well as information that allows us to verify that you are the owner of the e-mail address provided and that you agree to receive the newsletter. No further data is collected, or only on a voluntary basis. We use newsletter service providers to process the newsletters, which are described below.
Evalanche by SC-Networks GmbH
For our marketing activities (e.g. newsletters, download management, landing pages) and personalised services, we use the Evalanche software system of SC-Networks GmbH.
For example, on our websites you have the option of registering for our newsletter and other communication services.
Among other things, we offer the option of requesting various content such as checklists, guides, e-books and white papers, for which registration (including newsletter) is required. After you have registered for the content, you can access the download and receive an individual newsletter.
To ensure that the e-mail address provided when registering for the newsletter is yours, we use the so-called double opt-in procedure. After your request, we therefore send you a confirmation e-mail to the e-mail address you provided, in which you confirm by clicking on a link within this e-mail that you are the owner of the e-mail address. If you do not confirm this e-mail, you will not receive any further information from us. If you confirm the e-mail, we store your input data until you revoke your consent. The potentially personal data you provide during registration is used exclusively by us.
Evalanche will not forward the data described here to third parties. Evalanche is an analysis service of SC-Networks GmbH, Enzianstr. 2, 82319 Starnberg, Germany. Evalanche uses so-called “cookies”, text files that are stored on your computer and enable an analysis of your use of the newsletter. The information generated by the cookie about your use of the newsletter (including your IP address) is read out and sent to a server in Germany.
The newsletters contain so-called tracking pixels. This is a miniature graphic that allows us to recognise whether an e-mail has been opened by you or not. The tracking pixels, as well as the links contained in the e-mails, are linked to the ID assigned to you by the above-mentioned cookie, which is also assigned to your e-mail address. On the basis of this data, we create a user profile in order to be able to provide you with information tailored to your interests.
You can revoke your consent to receive such information at any time. You can unsubscribe from our communication services either by sending a message to info@eqphotonics.de or via a link provided for this purpose in the relevant e-mails.
CleverReach
This website uses CleverReach to send newsletters. The provider is CleverReach GmbH & Co. KG, Schafjückenweg 2, 26180 Rastede, Germany (hereinafter: “CleverReach”). CleverReach is a service that can be used to organise and analyse the sending of newsletters. The data you enter for the purpose of receiving the newsletter (e.g. e-mail address) is stored on CleverReach servers in Germany or Ireland.
Our newsletters sent with CleverReach enable us to analyse the behaviour of newsletter recipients. Among other things, it is possible to analyse how many recipients have opened the newsletter message and how often which link in the newsletter was clicked. With the help of so-called conversion tracking, it is also possible to analyse whether a predefined action (e.g. purchase of a product on this website) took place after clicking on the link in the newsletter. Further information on data analysis by CleverReach newsletters is available at: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/funktionen/reporting-und-tracking/.
Data processing is based on your consent (Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR). You can revoke this consent at any time by unsubscribing from the newsletter. The lawfulness of the data processing operations already carried out remains unaffected by the revocation.
If you do not want analysis by CleverReach, you must unsubscribe from the newsletter. For this purpose, we provide a corresponding link in every newsletter message.
The data you have provided to us for the purpose of receiving the newsletter is stored by us or the newsletter service provider until you unsubscribe from the newsletter and is deleted from the newsletter distribution list after you unsubscribe. Data that we have stored for other purposes remains unaffected.
After you unsubscribe from the newsletter distribution list, your e-mail address may be stored by us or the newsletter service provider in a blacklist if this is necessary to prevent future mailings. The data from the blacklist is used only for this purpose and is not merged with other data. This serves both your interest and our interest in complying with the legal requirements when sending newsletters (legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR). Storage in the blacklist is not limited in time. You can object to the storage if your interests outweigh our legitimate interest.
For details, please refer to the CleverReach privacy policy at: https://www.cleverreach.com/de/datenschutz/.
Data processing agreement
We have concluded a data processing agreement (DPA) with the above-mentioned provider. This is a contract required by data protection law, which ensures that the provider processes the personal data of our website visitors only in accordance with our instructions and in compliance with the GDPR.
8. Plugins and Tools
YouTube with extended data protection
This website embeds videos from YouTube. The operator of the pages is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
We use YouTube in extended data protection mode. According to YouTube, this mode means that YouTube does not store any information about visitors to this website before they watch the video. However, the extended data protection mode does not necessarily exclude the transfer of data to YouTube partners. For example, YouTube establishes a connection to the Google DoubleClick network regardless of whether you watch a video.
As soon as you start a YouTube video on this website, a connection to YouTube servers is established. The YouTube server is informed which of our pages you have visited. If you are logged into your YouTube account, you enable YouTube to assign your surfing behaviour directly to your personal profile. You can prevent this by logging out of your YouTube account.
Furthermore, after starting a video, YouTube may store various cookies on your device or use comparable recognition technologies (e.g. device fingerprinting). In this way, YouTube can obtain information about visitors to this website. This information is used, among other things, to record video statistics, improve user-friendliness and prevent fraud attempts.
If necessary, further data processing operations may be triggered after the start of a YouTube video, over which we have no influence.
YouTube is used in the interest of an attractive presentation of our online offers. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Further information on data protection at YouTube can be found in its privacy policy at: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
Google Web Fonts (local hosting)
This site uses so-called web fonts provided by Google for the uniform display of fonts. The Google Fonts are installed locally. No connection to Google servers takes place.
Further information on Google Web Fonts can be found at https://developers.google.com/fonts/faq and in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
Google Maps
This site uses the map service Google Maps. The provider is Google Ireland Limited (“Google”), Gordon House, Barrow Street, Dublin 4, Ireland.
To use the functions of Google Maps, it is necessary to store your IP address. This information is usually transferred to a Google server in the USA and stored there. The provider of this site has no influence on this data transfer. If Google Maps is activated, Google may use Google Web Fonts for the uniform display of fonts. When you access Google Maps, your browser loads the required web fonts into your browser cache in order to display texts and fonts correctly.
Google Maps is used in the interest of an attractive presentation of our online offers and to make it easy to find the places we indicate on the website. This constitutes a legitimate interest within the meaning of Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. If corresponding consent has been requested, processing is carried out exclusively on the basis of Art. 6(1)(a) GDPR; consent can be revoked at any time.
Data transfer to the USA is based on the standard contractual clauses of the EU Commission. Details can be found here: https://business.safety.google/controllerterms/.
More information on the handling of user data can be found in Google’s privacy policy: https://policies.google.com/privacy?hl=en.
9. eCommerce and Payment Providers
Processing of data (customer and contract data)
We collect, process and use personal data only to the extent necessary for the establishment, content or amendment of the legal relationship (inventory data). This is done on the basis of Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR, which permits the processing of data for the performance of a contract or pre-contractual measures. We collect, process and use personal data on the use of this website (usage data) only to the extent necessary to enable the user to use the service or to bill for it.
The customer data collected is deleted after completion of the order or termination of the business relationship. Statutory retention periods remain unaffected. For the transfer to our sister company, see Section 10.
Online shop and payment processing
For orders in our online shop, we process the data required to perform the contract (name, company, billing and delivery address, e-mail address, telephone number, order data). To process the delivery, we pass on the necessary data to the transport company commissioned with the delivery, and for payment processing to the bank commissioned with the payment or the selected payment service provider. The legal basis is Art. 6(1)(b) GDPR. Any further transfer only takes place if you have expressly consented.
10. Forwarding of Inquiries and Data Exchange with Frankfurt Laser Company
This section applies to all inquiries and business contacts, regardless of the contact channel (website, e-mail, telephone, trade fair).

EQ Photonics GmbH cooperates with its sister company:
FLC – Frankfurt Laser Company GmbH

If your inquiry concerns products or manufacturers that are distributed not by us but by FLC, we forward your inquiry to FLC so that FLC can submit its own offer to you. The data transmitted are your name, your position, your business contact details, the name and address of your company and the content of your inquiry (e.g. technical requirements, quantities, dates).
Exchange of existing customer data
Within existing business relationships, we exchange business contact and master data as well as information on product interests, fields of application and previous inquiries and orders with FLC, to the extent necessary for the following purposes:
- assignment of an inquiry to the responsible company
- avoidance of duplicate contacts and contradictory offers
- handling of projects in which both companies are involved
- maintenance of up-to-date and correct customer master data
- information about suitable products of the respective other company
What we do not pass on
We do not pass on to FLC information that is subject to a non-disclosure agreement or that you have marked as confidential. Your newsletter subscription applies only to EQ Photonics; newsletter data is not transmitted to FLC.
Legal basis
The transfer is based on Art. 6(1)(f) GDPR. Our legitimate interest lies in ensuring that your inquiry is processed by the company that offers the desired product and that business relationships within the group of companies are conducted without duplicate contacts (cf. Recital 48 GDPR).
Data we receive from FLC
If FLC forwards an inquiry to us or transmits existing customer data to us, we receive the above categories of data from FLC. We process them for the same purposes and on the same legal basis; in this case, the source of the data is FLC.
Objection
You can object at any time to the forwarding of your inquiry or to the data exchange with FLC, including already in your inquiry or by e-mail to info@eqphotonics.de. Your right to object under Art. 21 GDPR (see Section 3) remains unaffected.
Storage period and your rights
The receiving company deletes transmitted data as soon as it is no longer required for the respective purpose; statutory retention periods remain unaffected. You can assert your rights to information, rectification, erasure and restriction against either of the two companies.
