All products are Telecordia certified for long product life under harsh operating conditions.<br \/>\nEQ Photonics offers a large number of different SLEDs in cooled butterfly or TO packages. The superluminescent diode emission ranges from 1200 &#8211; 1700 nm.<br \/>\nOn one hand SLDs are broadband light sources (typically 50 nm) with a low temporal coherence, as is known for LEDs. On the other hand superluminescent diodes have a high brightness (power) and a high spatial coherence &#8211; comparable to lasers.<br \/>\nThis makes them particularly suitable for applications that require a high beam quality (including coupling into single-mode fibers), but do not tolerate any disruptive interference effects (speckle-free).<br \/>\nEnabled by DensePICTM spread spectra bandgap engineering technology, future generations of DenseLight SLEDs promise higher chip powers (up to 50mW possible), and broader spectral<br \/>\nbands (beyond 120nm).
